Where do you rent porta potties in Pittsburgh?

Which porta potty do I need?
Four core units cover almost every job. Pick by who uses it and for how long.
The standard unit is the workhorse. It measures about 44 by 48 inches on the ground and stands roughly 92 inches tall, with a 60 to 70 gallon holding tank. Perfect for a construction crew, a backyard project or a busy work site. The deluxe flushable unit adds a foot-pump flush and a sink inside. It suits guests, longer events and anyone who wants a step up from basic. The deluxe flushable porta potty page has the specs.
The ADA accessible unit meets the access standards. ADA section 404.2.3 sets a 32 inch minimum clear door opening, section 304.3.1 requires a 60 inch turning circle, and section 302.1 calls for a stable, firm, slip resistant floor. Where single units are clustered, ADA section 213.2 requires at least 5 percent, and never fewer than one, be accessible. How fast can you deliver?
Most standard drops land in 24 to 48 hours. Same-day is sometimes possible for units we have on the truck, but do not count on it for a big order. For storms, floods and burst-main situations we run emergency porta potty rental and emergency septic service faster than a scheduled job.
Winter changes delivery a little. NOAA's 1991-2020 normals for Pittsburgh International Airport show about 113.6 days a year at or below freezing and 44.1 inches of annual snowfall. How does service work?
We drop the unit, then come back on a schedule to pump the tank, refill supplies and sanitize. The industry baseline, ANSI/PSAI Z4.3, is one service visit a week for up to 10 users on a 40 hour week. Heavier use means more visits. We set the interval when you book.

Waste goes to a permitted disposal site. Pennsylvania rules under 25 Pa. Code Chapter 71 require an operator to name its disposal point for chemical toilets and holding tanks, and we can. If your site runs on a septic system, we also handle septic pumping, septic tank cleaning and grease trap pumping. Do you need a permit for a porta potty in Pittsburgh?
If the unit sits on your own property, driveway or private lot, generally no permit. If it sits in the public street or sidewalk, that is different. Pittsburgh requires a DOMI right-of-way permit for anything obstructing the street or sidewalk under City Code 416.01, issued by the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, not by PLI.
Pittsburgh has not published a named permit type specifically for a standalone portable toilet, so if placement in the right of way is your only option, that placement needs confirming with the city first. We do not guess at a permit number. Dumpsters are clearer: a demolition dumpster uses the Construction Staging Permit through the OneStopPGH portal, allowing up to 42 days in the right of way, with a base fee of 135 dollars plus 60 dollars at issuance. When possible a dumpster should sit in a parking lane, and a No Parking sign must be posted at least 48 hours before the permit starts.
What does OSHA require on a job site?
For construction, OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) sets the count: one toilet for 20 workers or fewer, then one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers above 20, and one per 50 workers once you hit 200. The OSHA portable toilet requirements page has the full table.
Water and washing come with it. OSHA 1926.51(a)(1) requires an adequate supply of potable water on site. Where crews apply paints, coatings, herbicides or insecticides, OSHA 1926.51(f)(1) requires washing facilities for that contaminant exposure, which is a specific rule, not a blanket handwashing mandate. Under 29 CFR 1910.141(d)(2), washing facilities need soap and towels or a dryer, and hand sanitizer alone does not satisfy it.
